Bunker Hills is a twenty-seven hole championship golf course. It has been ranked in the top twenty-five courses in the country by Golf Digest. It has hosted many major championships. The course has been the site of the 1976 USGA National Public Links Championship, 1979 Minnesota PGA Championship, 1975 and 1988 Men's Minnesota Public Links Championship. Since 1980 it has been the host of the Minnesota State Open Championship.
The number of foursomes will be limited as we can only accommodate a maximum of 216 golfers. Advance registration is required for this event to ensure that we do not over-fill the limit on foursomes and to have adequate buses arranged for the group.
If you would like to be paired up with specific golfers, please send an email message to Lori Hintz with the names of the people you would like to golf with. Every attempt will be made to accommodate your request.

To facilitate golfers getting their golf bags loaded and unloaded on the buses, the buses for this event will be departing from and returning to two separate locations: 1) the Hilton Hotel, and 2) the Hyatt/Millennium Hotels.

Fellows
Investiture Ceremony
on Tuesday
The Fellows Investiture Ceremony will be held in the Great Hall of The Depot (located at 225 Third Avenue South, Minneapolis), which once had been the Milwaukee Road Depot. The adjacent Depot Pavilion will be the location of the Icebreaker which immediately follows the Fellows Investiture Ceremony.
Seating in the Great Hall is limited, and as such, priority will be given for families and guests of the investees. Seating will begin at 4:30 PM and the doors to the Great Hall will close at 4:50 PM; there will be no late admittance until the ceremony opening is complete. The ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM and will last until approximately 6:00 PM. After the ceremony, the new Fellows will be formally introduced to The Society at the opening of the Icebreaker.
The Depot is located about 1-mile north of the convention center and host hotels. For those who wish to attend the ceremony you may either enjoy a ½-hour walk to The Depot, or you should plan on riding one of the shuttle buses which will be departing at 4:15 PM from: 1) the Hilton Hotel, 2) the Hyatt/Millennium Hotels, and 3) the Marriott Hotel.
Separate instructions will be sent to the Fellow Inductees providing
them with instructions for pre-ceremony activities. Due to time
constraints, Inductees should not plan to participate in the golf
tournament.
IceBreaker
and Silent Auction Event
on Tuesday
The IceBreaker Gala and Silent Auction Event will be held in the Pavilion of The Depot, which once had been the Milwaukee Road Depot. The Fellows Investiture Ceremony will take place in the adjacent Great Hall immediately preceding the Icebreaker. All conference participants, exhibitors, and registered spouses/guests are invited to attend the IceBreaker; registration for this event is included in the normal registration fees.
New at this year's conference the Young Member Council and Academy of Fellows will host a silent auction during the Ice Breaker. The purpose of the auction is to raise funds for the Society's Education and Mentoring (E&M) Fund. The E&M fund provides education and mentoring support to high school and college students, as well as the Society's Young Members, Non-commissioned Officers, and Small Businesses. The items that have been donated are described in the linked Flyer.

Fun
Run
on Wednesday Morning

Bright and early on Wednesday morning, the Fun Run will take place in the historic and scenic Saint Anthony Falls Riverfront District. The run/walk will begin at 6:30 AM and will cover 5 kilometers.
Buses to and from the event will be provided. The buses to the event will depart at 5:50 AM from the pick-up locations at 1) the Hilton Hotel, 2) the Hyatt/Millennium Hotels, and the Marriott Hotel. You will be brought back to the original pick-up location about 7:30 AM.
The cost for participating in this event is $10. We request that, if possible, you pre-register for the event to ensure that we have enough tee shirts ordered for the participants and adequate shuttle buses arranged for transporting the group; however last minute registration for this event is welcomed. All participants will be required to sign a "Release of Liability" waiver prior to running in this event.

and Fellows Social Event
on Wednesday

On Wednesday evening the Young Members and Fellows Social Event will be held at the Mill City Museum right in the heart of the historic Minneapolis Milling District. In addition to great eats and drinks, there will be fun activities to provide great opportunities for networking, mentoring, and camaraderie for everyone.
There is no cost for this event for participants registered as Young Members and for the Fellows of the Society. Others may attend if they purchase through registration an Ala Carte ticket for this event.

Ball
on Thursday
On Thursday evening the Society Ball will be held in the Minneapolis Convention Center's Grand Ballroom. As to be expected the food, the entertainment, and the camaraderie will be terrific.
With the Full Participant Registration, the Primary Exhibitor Registration, and the Spouse/Guest Registration there is no additional cost for this event; however, you must request a ticket for this event when you register for the conference. Ala Carte tickets can be purchased for people with Exhibitor Pass Registrations and for spouses/guests of local conference participants.

Technical
Tours
on Tuesday and Friday

A Technical Tour will be held on Tuesday for those who arrive early to the conference and again on Friday morning for those who would like to stay a little bit longer. Please pre-register for either or both of these activities to ensure that we have adequate shuttle buses arranged for transporting the group, and enough lunches ordered for the Tuesday tour.

Tuesday's Technical Tour will include the University of Minnesota's Saint Anthony Falls Laboratory, which uses water from the Mississippi River to model and study hydraulics and sediment transport. The tour also includes a stop at the Upper Saint Anthony Falls Lock and Dam, and a detailed overview of the I-35W Bridge Reconstruction from a vantage point at river level.
For the Tuesday tour, buses will depart from the hotels at various times between 9:00 AM and 9:15 AM. Lunch is planned at a local restaurant on the historic Main Street which runs along the Saint Anthony Falls area. The buses will return to the hotels by approximately 3:15 PM.
Tour will be limited to a maximum of 60 people.
Friday's Technical Tour will include a detailed overview, given by a representative of Flatiron-Manson, of the I-35W Bridge Reconstruction. SAME will provide hardhats, safety glasses, and safety vests for this tour as you will enter the construction zone. After this portion of the tour, buses will take you to the new Minnesota Twins Ball Park which is being built by M.A. Mortenson Construtction. The tour will include a presentation on Building Information Modeling (BIM) which has been extensively used for this project.
For the Friday tour, the the bus(es) will depart from the Hilton Hotel at 9:00 AM and then stop at the Hyatt Hotel for a 9:15 AM pick-up. The bus(es) should return to the hotels by NOON.
Tour will be limited to a maximum of 60 people.

The construction manager is M. A. Mortenson Company. Since 1987, when it began building sports facilities, Mortenson has risen to become one of the top three national builders of sports centers. Local sports experience includes Xcel Energy Center, Target Center, and University of Minnesota's Williams Arena renovation. National experience includes Coors Field and Pepsi Center in Denver, FedEx Forum in Memphis, Edward Jones Dome (formerly TWA Dome) in St. Louis, University of Iowa's Kinnick Stadium renovation, and Sprint Center in Kansas City. |
